This online map collection comprises 34 volumes (1,402 plates) published by the G.M. Hopkins Company for Pittsburgh. This representative selection of plat maps covers the greater Pittsburgh area through the years 1872 to 1940. To learn more, see the About the G.M. Hopkins Maps.

Currently we are in the process of scanning the remaining volumes of plat maps relating to Pittsburgh published by the Hopkins Company. These new volumes will be added to the site in the coming months, thus providing access to all the known Hopkins plat maps published for Pittsburgh.

We recently released a new interface for viewing the Hopkins maps. This interface is the same one used to view maps in our other Historic Pittsburgh Map Collections. This interface offers improved zooming and navigating features. Also note that users can now freely download map plate images as 200 dpi JPEG files for noncommercial and educational purposes.
