Description
The Six Jizō Statues. A charlatan uses three friends to pose as statues of the bodhisattva Jizō in order to trick a simple farmer from the countryside into buying them. Because he only has three friends, each has to mimic two statues, and confusion ensues. Signature: 江 文 [Kōbun]. Seal: Red letter seal in an irregular round shape: 月岡 [Tsukioka]. Category: Kyōgen (thief play).
