The images selected from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History Archives document bird-banding activities and various landscapes of Powdermill Nature Reserve from the 1960s through the 1970s. By majority, the photographs featured were taken by the creator of Powdermill, Dr. M. Graham Netting. Located in Rector, Pa., Powdermill Nature Reserve serves as the environmental research center of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History since 1956.
