We released another 509 digitized images from the Archives Service Center's Pittsburgh City Photographer Collection. Scanned from glass plate negatives, these images document significant changes in roads, infrastructure, and neighborhoods in Pittsburgh from 1911-1912. The images feature prominent projects such as the lowering of the hump in Downtown as well as the continued efforts to provide the city with modern water treatment, bridges, and roads. Photographic copies of plans and drawings are also included.
We scanned another 509 digitized images from the Archives Service Center's Pittsburgh City Photographer Collection. These glass plate negatives depict many Pittsburgh neighborhoods and streets in 1911-1912. There are now more than 6,300 images from this photo collection online.
