Description
Riverside High School and Meder Tire Service are seen in this view, looking north from West Carson Street. Riverside School was located in the South Side section of Pittsburgh and was subsequently abandoned when mills started to occupy the area. Riverside, located at 1740 West Carson Street, was built in 1882. Riverside Grade School was closed in 1911; the high school was closed in 1923. The property was sold in 1952 for $2,700 for commercial development.
