Description
Subject Unknown
Four seated figures are on the front face of the capital. The one on the right sits on a cross-legged, backless chair or stool. The one on the left sits on an ornate chair with no back. The two figures to the left have beards, the two to the right do not. The rightmost figure could be a woman. The figures look and gesture at one another- (suggesting speech?).
Two beardless figures stand behind the central group, one on each side-face of the capital. Both gesture toward the central group. The figure on the right appears to pick a bunch of grapes from a vine growing behind it.
Salet identifies the subject as "counsel", though Meunier (p 44)suggested that is "Zorobebel and courtesans before Darius" while others have labeled it a judgment scene. It may be a depiction of a contemporary event
