New Testament theme (parable) : The Deaths of Lazarus and Dives
(Luke 16: 19-31)
On the left side of the capital is the death of the beggar Lazarus. Lazarus is the crouching figure at the bottom left. Above and to the right is his soul, represented as a small nude figure in a mandorla. The mandorla is supported by two figures leaning down from above (angels?)
At center, the death of Dives, the bad rich man (barely visible)
Some scholars believe that the subject of capital 72 is the related subject, the feast of Dives
