Description
Central portal between the narthex and the nave. The left jamb contains the figures of two apostles. Two tall, elongated male figures are sculpted in high relief on the upper jamb- one on the frame of the door, the other at a 90 degree angle. Both have halos, but the heads have been broken off. Both are barefoot and wear long, flowing robes with many shallow folds. The one on the left holds a book in his right hand, held so it is parallel with his chest, his right hand is laid on his right thigh. The figure on the fight is pointing toward the other figure with his right hand (conversing?) while his right arm crosses his body holding a closed square object (book?) in his hand.
