Description
In the center of the front of the capital, a standing in a long garment woman faces the viewer. She has a halo and wears a veil. Her arms are bent at the elbow, but her hands, which might once have been gesturing or holding something in front of her chest, are broken off. On the tow angles of the capital are two nude standing male figures. The head of the one on the right has been broken off, but the one on the left has a long beard and long hair. Both are pulling at vines(?) which rise in front of them from the ground to the level of their waists.
Salet suggests that this capital might be a symbolic representation of Wisdom and Folly. Other suggestions are a Jesse tree (Meunier p. 39), Mary Magdalene (Porte II pl 41r) and Chastity and the Impious (Terret)
