This capital is modern. It is based on a fragment now in the museum at Vézelay, which contained only the upper half of the body in its shroud and the upper body and head of the lion at right. It is generally thought to represent the funeral of Saint Paul the hermit, whose body was buried by lions. Salet Capital number 58 Location: North side of nave, west side of seventh pier.
