Description
The Zodiac and Labors of the Months Window- Delaporte no. 17, Deremble-Manhes no. 28a
Panel 23 Labor of November - Butchering a Pig
In the foreground, a large pig with bristles along its spine sniffs at a pile of small round objects on the ground (acorns? grain?) In the background, a man raises an ax to kill it. There is an inscription DECENBER. Delaporte suggests that this scene was originally meant to represent December, and that panel 25 (feasting) was originally meant to stand for January.
