Panel 25. The Worship of the Virgin and Child Enthroned: Two Old Testament Prophets (Isaiah and Jeremiah)
Two Old Testament figures (no halos) stand on foliage forms. They look toward panel 26, which shows the Virgin and Child enthroned. The figures hold phylacteries with inscriptions, one reading ISAIAS, the other IHEREMIAS.
An early description by Pintard shows that the original subject of this panel was quite different from that in this replacement, which was made in 1928 (Delaporte, p. 193).
Panels 24-8 form a single composition showing the Veneration of the Virgin and Child.
