Pantaleon (haloed, tonsured) is at center, standing in a large chalice-shaped baptismal font. Hermolaus (haloed, tonsured) the priest who converted him to Christianity, stands at left. At right is a tonsured deacon holding what Delaporte describes as a vial of holy oil. In the background is a stylized tree, indicating that the scene was taking place out of doors.
