Description
The Infancy of Christ Window
Delaporte no. 2, Deremble-Manhes no. 50
Panel 11- The witnesses to the Presentation
This panel and panel 12 together form a two-panel scene of the Presentation in the Temple (Manhes-Deremble), also known as the Purification of Mary (Delaporte) (Luke 2:21-38), or the feast of Candlemas, 2 February).
Three women (haloed) stand looking toward Panel 12. Two carry candles, the third carries a dove.
Manhes-Deremble suggests these scenes emphasize the Purification of Mary rather than the Presentation of Christ.
