The Passion Window

Location: This window is on the south side of the west façade of Chartres. The other two west windows show the Jesse Tree and the Infancy of Christ. With the Belle Verrière window, the three west windows are the oldest at Chartres- they survived the fire of 1194.
Size: 8.38 by 2.25 meters
Armature: 7 registers each containing two large round panels
Restored in the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries, in 1894-1902, cleaned in 1974 by P. Gaudin.
