Panel 12- Christ and the Holy Women in the Garden. (Matthew 28:9-10; Mark 16:9-11;
John 20:11-18
One of the Maries (haloed), perhaps Mary Magdalen, stands at left, her hands clasped and raised in front of her. Another of the Maries (haloed) kneels beside her, extending her hands toward Christ. Christ (halo with Cross) stands at right. He looks toward the standing woman and gestures toward the kneeling one.
Stylized trees surround them. According to John’s Gospel, He is telling her not to touch Him.
