Panel 07-The Crucifixion of Christ (Matthew 27:35-56; Mark 15:24-41; Luke 23:33-46; John 19:17-37)
At center is Christ (halo with cross, loincloth) hanging on the cross. His head is bowed, His eyes are closed, and His torso and abdomen sways to the left. There is a nail through each foot (this is a Byzantine convention- most western Crucifixion scenes have one nail through both feet).
The Virgin Mary stands to the left and St. John stands to the right.
