The Pantaleon Window
Delaporte no. 40, Deremble-Manhes no. 11
Panel 13: Pantaleon is thrown to wild beasts
After having survived the tortures shown in panels 10-2, Emperor Maximien ordered that Pantaleon be thrown to wild beasts. They merely lick his wounds.
Emperor Maximien (crowned, holding a scepter) stands at left. He looks and gestures (giving orders?) to a man at center who carries a club and wears a parti-colored tunic (usually associated with disreputable people). Pantaleon (haloed, tonsured, wearing only a loincloth) sits at right, surrounded by four or more dog-like animals (wolves?)
