A seminude figure kneels at left. It is difficult to identify because its head has been broken off. At right, a man (also headless) in a short garment who raises a curved object to beat the kneeling man. In the other hand, he holds the martyr's hair. Marriage identifies this as St. Bacchus, whose relics were at Chartres.
