Delaporte no. 3, Deremble-Manhes no. 51
Panel 01-The Transfiguration of Christ (Matthew l7:1-8; Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36)
Christ (cross-halo, barefoot) is elevated at center, surrounded by a mandorla with a border in three colours. Eight rays of light emanate from His body. Moses and Elijah stand on either side, both haloed and barefoot.
Below are the figures of three apostles (haloed, barefoot)--Peter, James and John--looking toward Christ- one raises his hand; Delaporte suggests this is St. Peter.
Delaporte notes strong Byzantine influences in this panel.
