Panel 18: Thomas between two torturers
After he converted King Gundophorus, Thomas went to another region of India to preach. The king there, Mygdeus, ordered that Thomas be thrown into a furnace. This panel shows Thomas (haloed, dressed in a loincloth) standing between two men dressed in short tunics. The one at left holds a club or stick in his hand. All face toward the right (Panel 19: Thomas thrown into a furnace)
