Panel 4: Thomas sails to India
At the bottom of the panel are stylized waves. On them floats a single-masted boat with a curved prow and stern. There is a sail on the mast, and it is topped with a small cross. In the ship are three figures. Thomas (haloed) is at center. At left is a boatman wearing a hood and holding an oar into the water. At right is a figure pointing toward the right. (Perhaps he is Abbanes, envoy of King Gundophorus of India).
