MODERN.
Panel 11: The Construction of the Cathedral: Cutting or Transporting Stones
In the rear is a cart holding a large block of stone and pulled by two oxen. A man with a stick (prod?) stands behind them. In the middle ground, a man pushes of block of stone- perhaps on rollers. In the foreground, is another man, stooping and holding a pole. On the ground is another object (a template? a worked piece of stone?)
An early description by Pintard shows that the original subject of this panel was quite different from that in this replacement, which was made in 1928 (Delaporte, p. 193).
