Panel 18- Dream of Joseph (Matthew 3:19-20)
In the foreground, Joseph sleeps on a carved bed that is parallel with the plane of the panel, wearing a Jew’s cap. At right stands an angel with a halo who reaches out to touch Joseph’s shoulder. The angel carries a staff that Delaporte suggests is that of a herald.
Behind Joseph on the left is an arch with a curtain and a hanging lamp and roofs and towers above.
