Right Jambs - Socle of St. John the Evangelist figure
A man holds a large open pot containing salamander-like creatures. Houvet says this refers to a miracle by John. A pagan priest told John that he would convert to Christianity if John drank a cup of poison from snakes. John did so, lived and converted the pagan.
This miracle is also shown in the St. John window in the nave (Delaporte no. 4, Deremble-Manhes no. 48)and The Vendôme Chapel Window (Delaporte no. 8, Deremble-Manhes no. 40A).
