Description
View of Exterior from the South East View of the Abbey from the south-west. It shows the south Transept tower (almost completely. Restored by Viollet-le-Duc in 1854-6) This tower is to the south of the easternmost bay of the nave. Also shown is the upper part of the south transept and the western wall of the chapter house( restored by Violet-le-Duc in 1855. (Murphy p. 126)). The open ground to the south-west of the abbey once held monastic buildings and has an extensive view over the countryside
