Collection Scope and Content Notes

This subgroup contains the records of United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America (UE) District 8 which originally included locals in southern Ohio. When the United Farm Equipment and Metal Workers joined the UE in 1949, the district grew both in the number of locals and in geographic coverage to incorporate much of the Mid West. When the districts were disbanded, District 8 was included in the Western Region of the UE. Included in this subgroup is correspondence of the District 8 Council.
