Series I. Con-Agra Shutdown Efforts

Scope and Content Notes:

Series I consists of material related to events preceding and surrounding the shutdown of the plant and the formation of the organization. There is a minimal amount of information about Greyhound, the company that sold the Armour plant to Con-Agra. It contains correspondence with Con-Agra about the possible re-opening of the plant and re-hiring of the former employees. There is some information about plant-closing benefit packages from Armour, and biographical information and photocopied pictures of the board of directors of Con-Agra. It contains proposals from Con-Agra concerning labor agreements, but many things are not dated, making the sequence of events difficult to determine.
