Scope and Content Notes: The articles and news clippings here reflect the attention given to Dick Thornburgh's on-going career, with Kirkpatrick and Lockhart, and working with a number of public policy organizations, just for example. His advice was sought by the World Bank and governmental officials in developing nations, and others. Myriad speeches and lectures were given on the major topics of the day. For example, some of these articles relate to the WorldCom investigation, pornography, terrorism, and disability matters, and civil justice reform. They are an excellent reflection on the multi-dimensional aspects of Thornburgh's continuing and successful career.
There are file files relating to specific topics as follow: Allegheny Conference on Community Development; Iraqgate: report by Kenneth Juster and related clippings; International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank; technology issues and partnerships; and Presidential Campaign. As rather typical for Thornburgh, there is a file of "speeches by others." Lastly, there is a file of articles and other items regarding Ginny Thornburgh and her ongoing work in the disability field, as Director of the Religion and Disability Program of the National Organization on Disability (NOD), 1998-2000.
