Abstract: The majority of the collection consists of the business papers and correspondence of Hugh Henry Brackenridge and Andrew Watson regarding various properties in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Hugh Henry Brackenridge, a prolific writer and political commentator of the time, practiced law in Pittsburgh and founded the
Gazette newspaper. Andrew Watson was involved in property sales and officiated Pittsburgh land transactions for Hugh Henry Brackenridge. Many Pittsburgh properties change hands throughout the papers; deeds, leases and other documents are witnessed by a variety of Pittsburgh residents.
